Rajasthan Hindu Paintings

All of our paintings are handmade artwork from Rajasthan, India. These paintings are commonly referred to as miniature paintings. This style of painting evolved from Western manuscript illustrations that were used to describe and explain the manuscripts in 16th to 18th century. Our paintings are hand painted by skilled artists from Rajasthan, a small town in western India. The paintings are made with watercolors on canvas. Most artists use squirrel hair brushes, as this brush is pliable and allow painters to use great detail in their work. Our artists have inherited this art form from their ancestors. Our artists are a family from Rajasthan who now work and live in South India. The stylistic nature and rules of these beautiful paintings have been handed down for generations, while only a few originals remain. Below our paintings feature popular Hindu god's; Ganesha, Shiva, Nataraja, Krishna, and Kali. Each painting depicts these deities in various illustrations, episodes and Upanishads.
