This wood mask is an authentic one of a kind mask, hand carved and purchased in West Africa.

This Baule mask represents a baby elephant which symbolizes either a young royal or someone who is being groomed to come into a position of high authority. The beautiful patterned collar around its neck complements the mask's smooth polish and fine workmanship.

Without a tusk and with its trunk tucked in, this mask symbolizes someone who hasn't fully come into his own but who is slated to ascend greatness and acquire power. However, the comb upon the mask head symbolizes pride in one's heritage.

If a full elephant mask were for the king, this would be the crown prince.
